Fall Retreat
At the beginning of every academic year, Out4Biz invites all current LGBTQ+ MBA students on a weekend retreat. This weekend is meant to bring 1st and 2nd year students together to foster inter-class engagement and is a great chance for the new 1st year class to bond at the onset of their MBA experience. Previously locations include Rehoboth Beach, DE and Asbury Park, NJ.
White Party
Every year, O4B partners with Voyeur Night Club to host the biggest party of the year following Labor Day weekend - White Party! Drink and be merry donning your favorite all-white outfit featuring an open bar, drag queens, and other surprise guests. With the entire student body dancing alongside you, you’ll want to make sure you secure your tickets as soon as they go on sale!
Rainbow Pub
To commemorate National Coming Out Day and in celebration of our LGBTQ+ Prospective Students, Out4Biz organizes the annual Rainbow Pub each year in October. This is one of the most anticipated Pub's of the year, with drag performances by some of Wharton's favorite professors and administrators. Rainbow Pub brings together the entire student body to show that Wharton is a welcoming and accepting place of all people, including the LGBTQ+ community.
Allyship & Cross-Affinity Events
We are exceptionally proud of the strong culture of allyship and inclusivity at Wharton. We host events throughout the school year in partnership with Wharton’s diverse affinity groups, such as WAAAM, AAMBAA, and Vets. Previous events have included a “Paris is Burning” screening with AAMBAA and a thrilling RPDR Fantasy League.
Cross-Grad School Mixers
Wharton is part of a vibrant larger graduate school community at Penn. These graduate schools, such as the Law School, Dental Medicine School, and more, are also active in the broader LGBTQ+ community at Penn. We take part in cross-grad school mixers throughout the year - most recently, we hosted a Drag Prom!
Other Social Events
Throughout the year, Out4Biz organizes a number of social events and parties for our club members as well as the school. On a school-wide basis, we plan the annual White Party in the fall as well as the world-renowned Wharton 54 party in the spring. These parties, while not LGBTQ+ specific, are hosted by Out4Biz and are intended to be fun and to promote an environment of acceptance for Wharton’s LGBTQ+ students. In addition, past social events for our membership have included happy hours, a holiday party, a weekend ski/snowboard trip in the Poconos, student dinners, and other informal gatherings with classmates.
